As a founding Shareholder in the law firm of Hollstein Keating Cattell Johnson & Goldstein PC, and previously, as Partner in the law firm of Clark, Ladner, Fortenbaugh & Young, Jim has over 25 years of commercial and casualty litigation and trial experience with emphasis in products liability and maritime law. Jim also has extensive experience in handling professional liability, property damage losses, general insurance coverage issues, subrogation, and advising clients on risk management issues.
In service as Marine Safety Officer for the U.S. Coast Guard, Jim was the engineering inspector for new vessel construction and general vessel repairs, and was a prosecuting officer in administrative proceedings. He also was in-house counsel for a major petroleum transportation company during the 1980s as outside litigation, claims management, and advising management on risk assessment issues.
His practice includes regional representation of clients with nationwide litigation concerns in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, as well as acting as trial counsel in particularly serious cases in other jurisdictions.
Born in Swickley, Pennsylvania, Jim spent his youth living in ports around the United States and abroad, as his father was in the U.S. Navy. Today, he resides in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, with his wife, Julianne, and their three daughters, Claire, Anna and Emily.
